Saskatchewan Junior Female Hockey League (SJFHL) Announces Partnership with the PS/GE Bargaining Unit of the Saskatchewan Government Employee’s Union

The Bourgault Saskatchewan Junior Female Hockey League (SJFHL) is thrilled to announce the PS/GE Bargaining Unit of the Saskatchewan Government and General Employees’ Union (SGEU) as our League Partner. SGEU has a long-standing history of empowering workers in Saskatchewan, and is a proud supporter of Indigenous and women’s rights. Now, SGEUl is leading the path forward on female hockey in our province.

To highlight this partnership, the SGEU logo will be prominently displayed on every SJFHL player’s helmet for the entire 2024/2025 season.

The SJFHL is embarking on its exciting second season in 2024/2025! The league is made up of 125 highly skilled, competitive female hockey players, playing on six inaugural teams located throughout the province of Saskatchewan: Regina Junior Rebels, Saskatoon Prairie Blaze, Lumsden Taylor Toyota Lynx, Outlook Mainline Ice Hawks, Southwest CMX Impact (Swift Current/Gull Lake), and Western Junior Prairie Klippers(Kindersley).

The SJFHL provides an opportunity for female hockey players in our province to extend and develop their hockey careers and pursue their dreams of playing high-level, competitive hockey past the age of U18 for the first time in Saskatchewan.  The success of women’s hockey has recently shattered records all across North America, and the SJFHL is proud to be part ofgrowing the female hockey game right here in our province.

This partnership between the PS/GE Bargaining Unit of SGEU and SJFHL is a testament to recognizing, supporting and growing female hockey players in our province and providing an inclusive and supportive environment for their development, and ultimate success.
