The Taylor Toyota Lynx hosted the Western Prairie Junior Klippers at the Lumsden Sports Center for their first home game of 2025.
Both teams were evenly matched for most of the 1st period, but Klippers Folk slid one by Lynx goalie, Payton Schlamp to end the 1st.
The 2nd period turned up the heat with the Klippers looking to extend their lead, and Lynx working to get the puck and send shots on Klippers’ , with Rilyn Roadhouse in net.
Lynx Assistant captain, #14, Neve Stajniak, (Johnson) finally got one through the posts during a battle for the puck in front of the net, tying up the game, 1-1.
Some big penalties and power plays on both sides in the 2nd, Klippers Rudinski getting at Head Contact 3 minutes into the 2nd, followed by Lynx Olivia Johnson taking a double minor Roughing, and Danika Lorenz getting a Charging, resulting in a Game Misconduct and a 2-game Suspension.
The Lynx returned to the 3rd period, ready to go, and Lynx Rookie #3 Meagen Hak (Johnson) scored a quick goal less than a minute in. Both teams battled back and forth, with the Lynx keeping the puck in the Klippers zone and Lynx #20 Brooke Bassingthwaite ( MacMurchy, Bohrson) put a 3rd Lynx goal past Rylin Roadhouse.
Shots 48-18 for the Lynx this game.
