Christmas Break Feature - Regina Wild Sharon Head

In this "SJFHLers to watch" we feature rookie goalie Sharon Head from the Regina Wild.

In the first half of the 25-26 season Head is 4 and 0 with 1 shutout.  Her GAA is 1.75 with just under .900 save %.

Head's team in front of her has kept a lot of shots from coming her way but she has hsd standout performances in her games against the strong offences of the Blaze and the Ice Hawks recording wins in both cases.

This netminder pays close attention to the game and can help set up plays when she plays the puck away from he net.

We ask every feature player the same question, here is what Sharon had to say:

"My home community is James Smith Cree Nation.

I was drawn to hockey and ny greatest hockey influences were my older sisters as I grew up watching them.

My favourite thing about playing in the SJFHL is my teammates making connections and just playing the game.

I think i bring dedication,  hard work, and positive attitude that helps push myself to be better every practice. 

When I am not on the ice, I spend time with friends and family and i enjoy riding my horses.

Currently, i don’t have a job or go to school. i am hoping to become a vet assistant one day.

i dont really have any future hockey goals other than to savour each moment on the ice with my team, playing the game we all enjoy"

Rookie Goalie Sharon Head is a role model for young girls, not only in her community, but those around Northeast Saskatchewan,.

She has been making a name for herself as a dependable goalie for the past few years and continues to live life one day at a time, facing adversity and being an incredibly resilient young woman.
