In this "SJFHLers to watch" we feature veteran forward Teanna (Tdawg) Crossman from the Outlook Ice Hawks.#22 is on par for a breakout season in her 3rd campaign. The Assistant Captain has 10 points in 8 games this season, already besting her rookie year in 23-24 (5) and on pace for personal bests over last season (13).
In 24-25 Teanna platooned between offence and defence, she was voted as a 2nd team all star defence player that season.
Teanna sits in the top 20 all time point getters in the league and is poised to get into the top 10 by the end of the sesson if she continues at this pace.
We ask every feature player the same question, here are classic T dawg responses::"My hometown is Rosetown Saskatchewan.
I was inspired to start playing hockey by my 3 older brothers who were all actively playing hockey. I grew up watching them play and could not stand to sit on the sidelines anymore, I knew I had to get myself on the ice.
My favourite thing about playing in the SJFHL is mostly being able to continue playing a sport I love in a competitive way. It is also enjoyable to play with and against lots of my friends and people I grew up playing with. The support female hockey shows to the SJFHL is also really nice, it is proof that female hockey is growing and will continue to grow.
I would say my greatest individual contribution is my consistency and leadership. I take pride in being a reliable teammate, both on and off the ice, and in contributing through hard work, positive attitude, and supporting team culture every game and practice.
I am currently in my 3rd year of agribusiness at the University of Saskatchewan, minoring in field crop production. After school, I am hoping to get a job in the agriculture industry around or in Rosetown as well as work on my family farm. I currently take an active role on the family farm as I manage my own herd of cattle.
After I am done playing hockey, I plan to coach young female athletes and pass on my skills, knowledge, and experience I have gained through the sport. My biggest goal is to give back what female hockey and hockey in general has given me, and to help create opportunities for the next generation of girls who love the game."
Fans, #22 Teanna Crossman is the whole package, intense, fiercely loyal, and an absolute powerhouse on the ice, she IS one of the SJFHLers to watch this season!
